Tuol Sleng, Cambodia is a former high school which was used as the notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21) by the Khmer Rouge communist regime from its rise to power in 1975 to its fall in 1979. an estimated 20,000 people were imprisoned at Tuol Sleng. They were repeatedly tortured and coerced into naming family members and close associates, who were in turn arrested, tortured and killed. Only 12 people survive from this prison without wall.

Despite many comments about the sinister atmosphere, i feel that this photo shows light shinning into a once dark place just like how evil doings is now exposed to light and salvaged : Just my thoughts though on the picture. i was there visiting once too.

Great shot - I visited Tuol Sleng when I was in Cambodia in 2007 and you have captured the sinister atmosphere of this place where so much evil was done ...
